I'm a AVON Chick!!!

Getting Started!!!!!

So this blog  is going to be about
Monetary Prosperity. I am searching for ways to make extra $, moolah, denairos, etc. etc. etc in this economy. Working just 40hrs a week is not cutting it anymore. Heck gas is gonna be a all time high of $5 before this year is up. I have to remain in my house. I have to keep my car. So it's time to change the way I'm thinking and birth my own prosperity. Money will not fall from the sky. I know that. But working so hard where I don't have a life I most definitely do not invite. So I am going to venture out and find some easy and inexpensive home businesses I can run which in return can provide a comfortable living for my family and I.  I will never negatively blast any ventures I may take. I will only give you my experiences on it.
My newest venture is
AVON.(I'm singing "Avon" like an opera singer ending her song--LOL!!!). I'm singing it because I am really interested and enjoying what I'm doing so far. I have a few more business ventures I will be embarking on this year also. I have put ZamZuu on the back burner for now. Will explain that in a blog at a later time.  Still see the concept, but have lost the passion for it right now. Most definitely will be touched upon soon.

OK, AVON.......(pausing to reflect about this company). My best friend Georgia has had a AVON business for years now. I never really  thought of selling Avon until my job laid off over 100 people back in April of this year. And to my surprise one of them was the Avon lady.  Things were changing fast. The 50hrs/week that I was accustomed to working have been cut(but I still work from sun up to sun down--what the heck??).  I'm  thinking I may have to stop school....AGAIN!!!!.........AGAIN!!!!!!!!!  NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!  Can I just get finished??  So I thought of all my coworkers who were still employed and do not have an Avon lady anymore. Why not approach this methodically. I vowed to myself  I WILL NOT!  I repeat WILL NOT allow a corporation to pull the rug from up under me unprepared and I will have to desperately wonder where my next dollar will come from. I allowed that to happen twice in a 2yr span. I was devastated. So it's time to budget and save for an event like this. A lay off can happen again at any time.  I know I have to provide my income. So many people are devastated when that pink slip comes, of course unexpected. I don't want to be one of them. No breakdowns. No sour feelings in the pit of my stomach. I only want calmness if that time comes for me. I WANT TO BE PREPARED. I googled many hours about  work from home businesses for women and didn't really find anything that suited me. I'm not a stay at home mom with little kids. I'm a single mother of a recently Campbell HS graduate soon to be Savannah State Tiger. I am about to be a empty nester. And need to be able to pay my son's way through school as well as me finishing my degree(I feel 17yrs of obstacles is enough!) So I thought of direct sales again. I have done Mary Kay and Slumber Parties before. But you need kits to get started. Don't have the revenue for that at the moment.  So I then searched CareerBuilder to update my resume and that's when I saw it.  Someone placed an Avon ad. I hit the link. Submitted my info and Jan called me in about 30 minutes. We talked briefly about the business and why I wanted to do it. And then I found out it only cost $10 to get started. WHAT!!!!! No kit for $200? I had to call Georgia to find out why she didn't tell me this years ago.....She thought I already knew. Jan gave me homework to do. I had to jot down 50 names and  then set a date to meet. I was excited to find out more. I had a good vibe on this. I remember a childhood friend of mine mother sold Avon over 20yrs ago. She had Avon products all over the house. And to know that now NO INVENTORY IS NEEDED is GREAT!!! I was ready to get started that day. I prayed on this until our meeting.

Jan and I met on a Wed. morning and we talked for about 1.5hrs while sitting in a McDonald's lobby. She gave me all the info I needed to know about Avon. The history, their foundations, the training and support and the inspiration I needed to give Avon a try. Hey it was only for $10!(plus a website). I got a kit full of brochures and training material to read. I was ready.  So I got started. Prepared my brochures, sent out emails from my website regarding my Grand Opening. Took brochures to work with me to pass out.
And after 1.5 months of being in business I profited $125. I'm starting with small goals and working myself up. No big expectations. No overnight sensations. I understand I can MAKE more if I DO more. More energy put into my business more results I will see. Avon has an on line training classroom to teach new reps the basics on their business. All reps can also join the community forum and read and share ideas and tips in running a successful business. I am learning a lot. I have a client base of about 10 women and 3 men so far. Yes, I said men. They like certain Avon products too. AVON is not all about makeup....... LOL!!!!! And out of the 10 women I have 3 asking me about the business. I'm taking it slow and gonna be there to help them thru the process if they take on this venture too.

I will come and blog periodically about the progress in my business and to give info on Avon products I'm using.  I think this is going to be a good fit for me because it is so easy to do in my consumed life that I have right now. I BELIEVE in what AVON represents. I will share more on that in future blogs as well. I'm also going to share ALL that I learn to other women who want to start their own business. I'm looking to empower and inspire as many women as I can. Everybody wants to be successful!!! And if we share a little of the knowledge we have it can happen..............
If you are interested in this or know of the perfect woman who is interested share my blog with her.
I'm ready to inspire, empower and motivate!!!!

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

My favorite show is Frsh Prince of Belair with Will Smith. I thought that was the funniest sitcom ever....

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

I don't have just 1 longest closest friend. I have 3 equally throughout my life. I have a few more sistah friends who I do love dearly but these 3 have been a part of more than half my life. So that's why they all have to be listed. Believe it or not we all ended at the same HS together.

This is my longest best friend. Her name is Sue Lynn(A.K.A. "Suzy Q"-S.N. Oh! I loved those lil choco cakes--OK, let me get back to blogging--LOL!!!!) We have known each other since 6th grade. We have grown up and apart with each other over the last 24 yrs. I love her dearly and she is like a real sister to me.Yes, we got into a lot of trouble together. LMBO!!!

This is my closest best friend Georgia("G" for short-my version...LOL!!!!). Believe it or not but she grew up with Sue Lynn. We have kept in contact with each other over the years and esp. since I moved to Georgia. She started flying because of lil ole me:) She couldn't do GreyHound anymore. I cant blame her. Me neither-LOL!!! My spiritual and soul sistah.

And last but not least my 1st BF in H.S.--Stephanie("Steph"). We have grown apart as well but when I go home we always make sure to catch up on everything.
